BEAUTY AND THE BARBARIAN 2... A hybrid of sorts, melding my old work with the new phase. Nothing new really for me, have drawn this sort of thing in the past but never so finished and for sale. This was done today and is for sale on NAUGHTYBIDS.COM in the Erotic Art section. It's easy to register.

My prior explorations related to Heroic Fantasy art will no longer be at the forefront of my efforts, as economic realities have necessitated a change of strategy on my part. I actually started in adult comics back in 1995 and have never feared exploring the more libidinous aspects of the human condition.


My unwillingness to compromise my vision in favor of the "fanboy" mainstream by producing superhero pinup work for sale on eBay indeed proudly sets me apart from my competitors but has also hampered my progress to an extent. Those who labor over Supergirl and Batman, Wonder Woman and Wolverine or Vampirella illustrations, selling themselves short for a dime, are more easily accepted by the mainstream collectorship. Independent renegade creators like myself are not. So be it... I have always forged my own destiny, with an emphasis upon nurturing my own unique imagination, originality and creative fortitude.


I receive commission requests on a near daily basis to make Conan or Red Sonja or Death Dealer illustrations, which I decline every time. These are not my creations and I have no business profiting even one penny from them, unless it be to labor under a work-for-hire contract with a company who has licensed the property... any other exploitation of these characters is plain thievery. One can merely lead by example, as the saying goes. I will never pander in this direction as that would be a lack of artistic integrity on my part... and my integrity is strong as steel!

PICKING UP SOME OF THE PIECES OF A SHATTERED LIFE

Thanks to the support of my loving family, friends, Carla's family and my own deep personal fortitude, I've been picking up some of the jagged pieces of a shattered life following the death of my beloved companion Carla.

Thank you for your warm messages of condolence and support in what has been the most painful period of my life. The outpouring of heartfelt love and compassion for Carla has been truly touching. We who loved her must remain strong and forge onward, respectively learning from this tragic loss and living courageously for brighter days ahead.

Carla and I did not believe in an afterlife and so she returns in body to her special birthplace to peacefully rest, her struggle finally over. Her lifeforce now resides in spirit only with those of us who adored and cherished her... and always lovingly remembered Carla shall be forevermore.

Yeah, right………… There is much to say about the comics and fantasy art industry, unscrupulous publishers, and monopolistic distribution -- and my imminent plans for TRANGRESSING the entire sordid situation. SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON 2008: ARTISTS SEAN PATTY AND SIMON BISLEY

Went down to San Diego Comic-Con as a guest and talked art with "Biz", a favorite artist of mine for many years, had not seen him since '95..... also got an application in for the 2009 show.... keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed on that one!
